If you are reading this post, chances are you are a Classic Mail user. But, have you tried the new version of Yahoo!7 Mail yet? What I love about the All-New version is that it’s packed with new and exclusive features to make our lives easier and its completely different and cleaner look, similar to Outlook.
Only with the new version you can drag and drop your messages into different folders, chat with your online friends instantly directly within Mail, and preview attached photos and images directly from your Inbox. And these are just some of the new functionalities available. Want to give it a try and see it for yourself? It’s fairly easy to switch from Classic to the All-New Mail and vice versa, here’s how:

1) Simply click the link ‘Options’ as show in the image above.
2) On the Options page, click the “Try it now” link in the purple box (see below):

If you feel it’s too different for you now, simply switch back to Classic. Or, if you are an undecided Libra person just like me, you can use Classic for 3 days and then the new version for 4 days, then back to Classic for another week, and so on… Maybe one day you will decide which version works best for you!Hope you like it, let us know if you do.
Cheers,

How many of you have seen or used the Stationery feature on Yahoo!7 Mail? Our Yahoo!7 Mail Stationery allows you to get creative with your emails by adding a funky background theme to your email and also makes your emails stand out from the crowd.
Stationery can take on another dimension during special events, so on this Halloween why not send someone a scary (though not too scary!) email complete with spooky stationery? There’s a whole series of themes available ranging from abstract and arty to pretty and psychedelic, you’ll definitely find one to suit the mood of your mail!
Currently the stationery feature is only available in the all-new version of Yahoo!7 Mail, so if you’re using Yahoo!7 Mail Classic and want to use stationery then why not switch over to a 21st Century experience.
Let us know what you think of the Stationery feature… Is it good, bad or ugly? Are there any themes you would like added? Send us your suggestions, we’ll listen.
All the best,
Will – Yahoo!7 Mail Team
So how do I use Stationery?
We’re glad you asked!
Firstly, you need to make you are using the All-New Yahoo!7 Mail rather than Classic. If you need help on how to switch, check out Sabrina’s post over here.
Next, you need to click on “New” as seen below, to compose a new email:

Then click on the “Stationery” option that is seen to the right-hand side of your new email message. This will slide the Stationery options down the right of your email message.

Simply clicking on any of the thumbnail pictures on the right will then apply that particular stationery to your message.

By selecting the “Featured” link, you will be able to navigate to other categories and choose more cool stationery to spice up your emails. Choices include, amongst others, animals, flowers, holidays, sports or patterns!
Below, you can see an email I am currently composing to my Mum, using the Yahoo!7 Liam blowing heart bubbles. Do you think she will like it?

Now it’s time for you to go and check it out! Be sure to come back and let us know which one’s your favourite
Happy Emailing,

If you love sharing your favourite photos by email as much as I do, keep reading this post. In case you haven’t noticed, the all-new version of Yahoo!7 Mail has enhanced the way you can view image files received as attachments, allowing you to view the photos directly from your Inbox. It’s quick, easy and it works really well!
For this example, I’m working with an email that includes three photos (nice shots from our mascot LIAM), but the same applies whether there are 2 or 200 photos attached. When I open up the message that has photos attached to it, the bottom of the message is going to look like this – the photos attached are shown as thumbnails in the body of the message (without those crazy red boxes and numbers):

- If you click ‘1’ you will be able to view the image directly from within the all-new Yahoo!7 Mail interface.
- If you click ‘2’ (my choice!) you’ll start a slideshow that will allow you to scroll through all the images attached, which is very similar behaviour to number ‘1’. (For more detail on ‘1’ and ‘2’, have a look further down this post to the next image where I’ll talk about the image viewer.)
- If you click ‘3’ you can select from the attached pictures and only download the ones that you choose. All you have to do is check the box of the pictures you want to download and then click the “Download Selected” link.
So what’s this image viewer all about?
This is what happens when you click ‘1’ or ‘2’ from above – a sort of window pops up (it’s really an overlay) with the image you just clicked:

So here’s what you can do with the photo-viewer when it pops up:
- Whether you click on a picture or the slideshow link, you can scroll through the pictures that are attached to the image. So what’s the difference? If you click the slideshow link, then it starts with the first image, and if you click a specific image, you’ll then go to the next image.
- Clicking ‘2’ will stop and start the slide show. If the slideshow is playing the text in the red box above will say “pause” instead of “play”.
- Clicking ‘3’ does exactly what it says on the tin. To close your photo-preview or slideshow, just click the “close” button.
So that’s it. The beauty is in the simplicity, and I still think the slideshow view is fantastic!! Unfortunately, this feature is only available to users of the all-new mail, so if you’re a classic mail user, feel free to switch to the new version of Yahoo!7 Mail.
Hope you enjoy this feature and happy photo viewing!
