Introducing the All-New Calendar Beta
June 11th, 2009 Filed in: Announcements 16 comments
If you often find yourself juggling your personal and working or studying life together, you may find this post particularly useful.
There’s an updated version of the Yahoo!7 Calendar now available to help you keep your life organised and on schedule. And that’s just the beginning. You can also personalise your Calendar with colours and photos from Flickr, create to-do lists (this is my favourite feature, as I am a true to-do list maniac) and also share your calendar with friends and family, for a more social experience.
Here’s the list of new features (some of them):
New Search: You can now search both Calendar and Notepad based on words in your event titles or notes.
To-Do Lists: Now you can have multiple to-do lists (i.e. Personal, Work, etc.), and you can share to-do lists just like you can share your calendar. And if you don’t like to-do lists, you can hide them (just click and drag the to-do list to close it).
Print: There’s a new print button that allows you to print your Month, Week or Day view.
Right-click: A new right-click shortcut menu lets you add and view events, plus more. Give it a try!
Easily drag and drop events to reschedule appointments without having to refresh your web page.
Ok, by now you should be asking yourself “how can I get to try the All-New Calendar Beta?” It’s simple. Just sign into Yahoo!7 with your ID and password and then visit this page: http://switch.calendar.yahoo.com/m/landing.php
If you are still not convinced to give it a go, maybe watching this video might change your mind?

Note: This video showcases the US version of Yahoo! Calendar. Please note that SMS event reminders are not available for users of Yahoo!7 Calendar in Australia.
But wait – there’s more! The following features will be coming soon in addition to what you see in beta now:
- Outlook Sync for Calendar and Address Book
- Apple iphone sync with iphone3.0
We’d love to hear your feedback and comments on our new Calendar Beta.
Cheers,
Tasla – Yahoo!7 Mail Product Manager

I can’t get the beta calendar and I see several posts with the same problem. When you click on the Get Started link it takes you to a page with a dog that says “Sorry…
The new Yahoo! Calendar Beta doesn’t work in your language yet. The team is working around the clock to translate everything in your language.
By the way, did you know there are over 6,000 languages in the world?

Hi guys
A couple of months ago I started using Google calendar because of the limitations of the Nokia calendar app. I looked at Yahoo calendar (because Yahoo is my primary email), but I couldn’t connect it to my phone (Nokia E71).
Your pretty graphics do not impress me. Show me some cross-platform portability!
Specifically, I want to use the Nokia calendar on the phone, DIRECTLY linked to the Yahoo calendar.
And make it work well in Australia. Do that, and I will happily come across to Yahoo calendar.

You would thing that a company that is was created in an English speaking country would do their beta testing in English.
Or maybe they consider New Jersey to be another country.

I love Yahoo it easy to operate but I don’t like to be ask all the to signup. Every time I use my
computer. I use my system alone. nobody who use my system except myself. Why I always to be ask to sign up my password. No one who use my system? Sometime, I can not remeber my password mostly. Let me know Why? I know for security purpose I’ve not so happy about it

Is there a way to create a group which can be linked to a current yahoo email address?

I am not a ccomputer nerd like most others and therefore, I find the new yahoo mail box link is a complete waist of time and very irritating, it was quicker to get to mail before this intro. now is twice as long and so often comes up and says that my sign in is incorrect. – crap can I delete this screen and go back to how it was. – now every single time I sign in it is a three step process. it has become a chore to log in to emails now. what the story – not everybody lives in front of a computer screen. and not everybody is well versed on the use of computers – some things need to be simplified.

I am getting sick of having to sign in all the time! I have the box checked that says leave me signed in for two weeks, but every time I go in now, I am required to re-sign. Leave it the old way!

I would like to echo some of the sentiments on being asked to set up secret questions + answers, yet YAHOO has made it so complicated to get this task done.
How can you have a 4 characters answer for a simple one word SURNAME?
Think it’s time to change email exchange site everybody.
If you reading this DEAR YAHOO, please let me back into my account so I can remove all my stuff there PLEASE!

All I want to do is maintain the status quo in getting through to my mail box. I will not forget my password and I do not want to have secret questions and answers thrust upon me.
Now please allow me to get through to mail box in the usual way. I have been quite satisfied with it in the past.

i am sick and tired of constantly having my id and password being told they are wrong when i know they are right. This stops me from signing in anywere wich is very frustating.can something be done to correct this please, because i cant see the point in answering questions to be told every time they are wrong answers.can you please put me on to some one who can help me with a sensable answer. I am one of many ATT customers that have been dumped onto Yahoo for e-mail and calendar service.
My questions are simple:
Where can I go to get help with Yahoo! Calendar Beta?
Where can I leave comments on Yahoo! Calendar Bets?
