I love using the stationery. It makes email writing even more pleasurable. I was especially thrilled to discover it on the new Yahoo because the previous stationery from ‘Fun Web’ stopped working. I can still use the other ‘Fun Web’ features – just not the stationery, so the Yahoo version was a Godsend!!! My mother thinks I am artistic – little does she know how simple it is to change text colours and click on the different backgrounds!!!

Maybe a night sky one? With stars and the moon and stuff?
We could be able to create our own stationary with our own pictures and images! It would be a unique stationary.

I think stationary is great ! I would like to be able to use a photograph as stationary but faded like a watermark. That would be VERY COOL ! That way you could have a pic of the person you are sending the email to or one of yourself and your email friend together to really personalise your emails. Thank for the op to air my view.

Mark Gregory | October 21st, 2008 at 1:43 pm
Hi Team,
We use the Yahoo!7 email account for our not for profit assoication and I would like a semi corportate group of stationary so that we can use it for the association. All the rest is good for fun/friends/family but no good for that usage. Based around your motif and left hand edge margin types (eg laces under sport). I would be really happy to use that type.
Also could an import funciton be built in so that it could be personalized. Yes I can see some of the issues of copyright and obcenity from your point of view but it’s a thought.
All in all about 9/10 for the implementation.
Regards….mark

I am endeavouring to transfer all my e-mails and contacts from my Hotmail account, but your Information page for this process disallows me entering the old address which is: bmangus@live.co.uk
The only option in your dropdown menu is
live.com.au – and that isn’t my e-mail address.
Please help!

Hello,
For a long time I have been wanting to pretty up my emails but didn’t know how so I’m delighted you have created the stationary option, but more choices would be good. And remember not all your users are young so some styles that would appeal to older people would be terriffic. Would also really appreciate it if you would add other things to help us make our emails attractive and interesting. I would love to be able to include beautiful pictures in the body of the emails as well, and could we have a clip board type method to store them so we can access our own little collection picutres (or yours). Clip art would be good. And more upmarket emoticons and other little character type things to put in. I very much hope you are able to do these things as making my emails more attractive would give me a lot of pleasure. Thank you. Warm regards
83.
Kaz | November 22nd, 2008 at 7:19 am
I love the pandas!
It would be great to have an “add custom” feature but you would need to give us instructions on what file type and size to use (for those of us who bother to actually read)!
It is odd that when someone replies, the stationery drops out, but I’ll get over it.
Can we submit our own for you to add to the application, maybe?
PS: I love having a “proper” email address. Really helped me in getting my funky new job. Thanks Yahoooooooooooo! K:)

I wish they could start a L or P plate club of sorts
so that older/newer users of these systems could
be able to understand and master them easier!!!
All these free things are great, however, unless you are a child or teenager currently going to school, you have not had exposure and access to
much of the new or even older technology that is
currently being offered. You really should think about older Australians and indigenous australians who have had very limited exposure to this equipment; and perhaps offer some type of
navigation through it.

Hav a good nite e’one
I’m pretty excited about the changes you guys have made, but just a few suggestions:
The option in mail to go directly to my inbox rather than the welcome page and more frequent auto-checks of email.
Have to say that 1GB attachments will be a great improvement and make things a lot easier as well as ensuring that Yahoo!7 Mail stays as the world’s most unrestrictive free web email service.
Thankyou!!

Tom Sculley | December 18th, 2008 at 9:25 am
Ever time I access my Mail I am now confronted with a list of so called Friends.
To be polite as I can it is pissxxg me off big time.
First, I know who my Friends are so I don’t need you to tell me.
And if that’s not bad enough your lists are full of what can only be described as serial pests,
pests who just will not leave me alone,
ceaselessly bombarding me with daily Emails,
and now you are doing the same,
but you refer to them as my friends.
Please give me a break before I give you the Flick.
Sorry to hear that you don’t like the new features, as the post outlines the connection process is meant to make it easier for you to access the emails that matter, e.g. those from your friends.
It would be interesting to know what you dislike about the connection suggestions, as a connection is just a way for you to access your email more quickly in the long run.
You can turn off the new features if you go into the Mail Options page.
Options > Mail Options > Untick the checkbox “Enable Connection-related features”
cheers
Morgan

Cath | December 20th, 2008 at 10:42 am
I agree with Tom wholeheartedly.
Can you please put a link to turn of this connections crap on the front page we’re being delayed with each time we open our mail. A number of my friends have mentioned how annoying they have found it too – most dont think to go looking for a solution unless it’s presented with them – please do that before we switch to gmail!
153.
Cassie | December 20th, 2008 at 1:05 pm
I can’t get any mail page to load, so swithing back is impossible, it should be an option on the sign-in page as to which mail you use.
154.
Retro Pastiche | December 20th, 2008 at 2:22 pm
Does ymail have an email alert function? I’m currently using gmail because of this, I can monitor incoming emails more efficiently. I have signed up for ymail but I probably won’t use it as my primary account if I can’t have this facility.
The new look to yahoo mail is “Not” liked by me and it gets a thumbs down as to any options that “I’d” like to do “Ain’t” there. one good example: “Invite Connections” once loged into the e-mail. it’s something i don’t like being asked 4 milllion times to get this person to get this or do that when i “DON’T” what to as they don’t want it or they already got it. see my point. “Invite connections” should be an opional thing not there and you cannot get rid of it. still i’ll have to get use to the newer version weather i like it or not. that’s where i’ve stuck around with “Yahoo” as to “Too” many changes in MSN/Windows messenger? mail, i’ve pulled out as to that happening.
Thunbs Down in the item. there might be another comment in the near future.

1. Click on “Options” (top right) and choose “Mail Options” from the drop-down menu.
2. Take the tick out of “Enable Connections” and click on “Save Changes”.
3. Select “Back to Mail” (top left) to return to your mailbox.
If you are using Classic mail, you can do the following:
1. Click on “Options” (top right).
2. Under “Mail Options”, select “General Preferences on the left-hand side”.
3. Simply remove the tick from “Connection Features” under Connections then select “Save” (top right). Then click on “Mail” to head back to your mailbox.

Did not find the “Try it now” link under the Options link.
I had been using the new mail and was quite satisfied. But it started showing up 1 unread email even though there was no unread email in my Inbox. To check, I switched to the Classic mail and found that the unread email was in fact in another mail folder. After discovering this, I am now unable to switch back to the new mail.

Sounds like you have cookies disabled on your machine. The page that you get is designed to only show to user who have never used Yahoo! Mail before. Check your cookies, the majority of people should go straight through to the sign in page.

If you say that most people get directed straight to their Inbox, then the problem must lie with my PC I guess.
Yahoo Mail has increased in usability greatly. I think ever since the release of the new mail upgrade my enjoyment of Yahoo’s ideas and creations has risen to the highest factor.
Back to the subject at hand, I think the new connection feature is great. I also cannot wait to see it be integrated into other features of Windows Live. Thanks for keeping us posted. =)

yeah. so. i have stationary.
but i want more options.
and one of the people who send me mail has different stationary than me. how can i change what stationary i have. because i don’t like my options (i don’t want abstract and sports and crap) and he keeps sending me cutesy letters with sanrio (hello kitty, etc) charcters, which would be better suited for me.
so, how is the basis of who gets what stationary determined?
and i really want new statioanry!

I think there should be more backgrounds and variations of the stationary such as stickers, borders and other features. With those- it would be awesome and people would use it lost more!
I can’t sign in to my Yahoo account to see my mail! I’ve attempted this over a dozen times and there’s no reason for it – I’m using my coorect log-in user name and password, the same I’ve had for years … what’s gone wrong?

How do I stop “My Connections” that keep appearing each time I open my email. Too many of them are in no way connected to me and I want this insidious inclusion in my files to be done away with.

3. Simply remove the tick from “Connection Features” under Connections then select “Save” (top right). Then click on “Mail” to head back to your mailbox.

My box was invaded and destroyed by scammers two motnhs ago. They put up a fake yahoo page saying for account maintenance provide account name/password and I stupidly fell for it. They then used my mailing list to send a scam email requesting money using my identity. Fortunately the people I know weren’t stupid and contacted me. There was a lot of personal and useful commercial stuff in my email memory that I would like to retrieve but I guess that is not possible now. My new account is ozcounsell at yahoo.com.au.

This is an outrageous event in Email HISTORY why would you have a product that is GREAT!and then change it? Get so many complaints to change it back to it’s orginal format, then to find out it’s completely deleted or impossible to change back. I guess I’ll have to delete my account with YAHOO, because it won’t allow me to choose which format I feel most comfortable using for my e-mail account This is sad!!!!
I love the whole stationary BUT!!!!! One thing that really bothers me is that the old email/classic email has sanrio/hellokitty stationary. ITs soooo cute!! BUT!!! the new yahoo email does not provide that stationary! =’(..why not? Hello kitty should be provided in the new email please! Please please! Thank you ^_^

Skye | March 26th, 2009 at 4:32 pm
I think that the stationary is GREAT, but for the celebrations, maybe something to do with Easter would be good? Also some more animals. I really like the idea of using your own photos as well.

the information was helpful it just that mys dont pop up or anything
I can’t reply to or forward emails. Nor can I switch back to classic view!
It seems to me that yahoo doesn’t get along with the Mac world very well. I no longer have a PC in my home and my patience with yahoo is quickly disappearing. In the past I could switch back to classic view and my email would work fine with Safari, now i can’t even do that… the only time I can access my mail without frustration is from my work PC… a real inconvenience if I’m at home (holidays, weekends and evenings are out)!
Unless something happens quickly, its time I give this once loved mail program the flick.
I havent even tried it yet, but it looks easier and I’m just a learner on computers…As long as all the nice gentlemen see me and chat 2me…I’m Happy! From badbambi69@Yahoo.com
thanks for this usefull informations..

I like the Yahoo Go system on my phone. It’s a very handy feature and I’m glad of the software that Yahoo provide us as users out there.
There are some people out there, who don’t want to or can’t be bothered with this, however there are those who enjoy using this feature. What works for one person, doesn’t necessarily work for another person.
Some people don’t want to even try getting out of their comfort zones to try something new, and then when they do, they scramble back to their safety zone once more.
So Dean you have a right to say what you want and do what you feel is right for you. It’s ok that you don’t like this feature of Yahoo.

Such a relief to hear that I am not the only one! I have gone to great lengths to remedy this problem. Was given the impression that my computer was the problem. Glad to have read the above before throwing anymore time or money at it. How frustrating! No option but to give yahoo the flick! They have not been helpful at all.
It’s a good video but not excellent. I don’t know why you guys decided to feature only yahoo ‘products’ in a video about online communications in general, surely there’s a lot of ‘history’ missing there!

Yahoo!7 Mail is the best, not like that over rated Hotmail or the cheap imatation email site gmail.com…
Google overall is so lame, they are like a unpopular kid at school trying to fit so they wear their pants low, and sloutch alot.
Except in this case they make gMail and that web brower I can’t be bothered knowing about.
Ditto to all the above. I am so fed up with not being able to access the classic view. The new version is just a constant frustration and will have to change to another email account if it can’t be fixed.

I thought that Yahoo might have brought us an interesting mini-doco on the progression of personal computing. At least, that’s what it advertised, and why I thought that this piece of drivel promised.
However, what it brought us was a self serving mini ad, congratulating itself on its achievements, and aimed at the lumpenmasse unable to discern reality from “reality” and even less capable of being able to spell or get grammar right.
Boring, and a total waste of time.

I thought this was a great little video, the music was also pretty catchy too (is it a real song? probably not).
It just goes to show how far we really have come in the last 25 years, although I’m pretty young I still find it fascinating to learn about the history of communications and how it has evolved.
Yahoo should definitely keep doing videos like this celebrating other significant milestones.

I am turning my friends off using Yahoo because you never had it right nor will you ever. Remeber if it ain’t broke – then don’t fix it
i find the new mail box to be too fiddley the print is small and hard to read the older system was much easier to use . i shudder to think what it would be like on a laptop with something like a 10″ screen.
hopefully you will do something about decluttering
the screen. regards j robinson

A couple of months ago I started using Google calendar because of the limitations of the Nokia calendar app. I looked at Yahoo calendar (because Yahoo is my primary email), but I couldn’t connect it to my phone (Nokia E71).
Your pretty graphics do not impress me. Show me some cross-platform portability!
Specifically, I want to use the Nokia calendar on the phone, DIRECTLY linked to the Yahoo calendar.
And make it work well in Australia. Do that, and I will happily come across to Yahoo calendar.

I can’t get into my mailbox!!! i enter my ID and password and i get the same log in screen over and over and over again!!! Aaaargh! I’ve tried typing a password incorrectly and it picked that up fine, so i re-type the correct one and yet again a new log in page appears!!
This is a joke, i urgently nee to get into that mailbox and get things out! Ive tried to access all the help pages… and they all ask me to log in to be able to report my problem… how the heck can i log in if i can’t friggin get past hte re-occuring log-in screen!
Please help as i urgently need to get inot my mailbox!
Can you advise whether you have a conventional (but electronic) users guide for the new mail client? There are a few frustrating little things and I would love to read a manual to see what (if anything) I have missed. You might have some fantastic stuff there but I remain unaware because it isn’t addressed by a users guide.
If you have one, would you please be so kind as to send me the URL. I’m a firm believer iin RTFM, but you need the FM to do so.
every time i try to sign in, i’m being asked for information. Which tells me they’ll reset my pass word- which i don’t want.
i can usually get around this page & sign in without give any details. But today I can’t!
i close the window, open a new one, & re-type yahoo address in & start again.
also every time i create a sign in seal, it’s not there next time.
it’s nothing to do with my pc deleting cookies or any thing.
Is this a genuine thing?
I have a feeling it’s not.
has anyone else having this problem?
i desperately want to check my emails but don’t want to risk giving my details.

I am not worried about scams. What I am concerned with is my inability to get a reply, confirmation, assistance or advice as to any situation in relation to my inability to access my email account but have no problems with surfing the internet.
Is it a case of my being one of the small fish in the sea, there only for the sharks to have as an entree at their leisure?
I love Yahoo it easy to operate but I don’t like to be ask all the to signup. Every time I use my
computer. I use my system alone. nobody who use my system except myself. Why I always to be ask to sign up my password. No one who use my system? Sometime, I can not remeber my password mostly. Let me know Why? I know for security purpose I’ve not so happy about it
I really like your blog and i respect your work. I’ll be a frequent visitor.

484.
Raymond Gordon | August 4th, 2009 at 12:24 pm
I am not a ccomputer nerd like most others and therefore, I find the new yahoo mail box link is a complete waist of time and very irritating, it was quicker to get to mail before this intro. now is twice as long and so often comes up and says that my sign in is incorrect. – crap can I delete this screen and go back to how it was. – now every single time I sign in it is a three step process. it has become a chore to log in to emails now. what the story – not everybody lives in front of a computer screen. and not everybody is well versed on the use of computers – some things need to be simplified.
I didn’t realize UK had a scams awareness month. Wonder how many countries have this sort of thing.

lets replace the weekday sunrise team with the weekend team
I asked yahoo about whenever I log on to my yahoo account I’m directed to account information, I did with my one yahoo account but when I edited my aacount information and click the finish, I’m directed to another pop up window to save it. I didn’t because it looked fishy to me. I wish you could give me an answer because the answered I got from yahoo is so general I cannot even define any answer to my query, please help

Thanks,
That did help. I enjoy chatting like that too. However, there is just one thing. I can only chat to one person at a time and that is very frustrating. I think the yahoo team should DEFINETLY do something about that. I have been considering changing to hotmail because of this.

That’s great but it doesn’t STAY switched – Yahoo! used to have an option at the top of the new page to seitch back to the classic Yahoo home page, but that has apparently been removed. Why can’t Yahoo stop messing with a great product. Well, it WAS great – now it stinks. I’ve given my feedback – are they listening??

Rob Holian | September 11th, 2009 at 7:43 pm
May I just say that although such features as the new photo attachments are great, the overall design of the new Yahoo mail is terrible. I hate it. I cannot express how much I want my old one back. I do not want to use Mail Classic, because it is annoying and useless. I just want the user-friendly, pleasant looking Yahoo mail I had when I signed up.
The new mail looks like Gmail, to be honest, and shame on you, not only for copying them, but for thinking it looks good. I certainly appreciated the graphic intensive user interface Yahoo used to have – has it been trashed in the hope of faster site loading times? Faster loading times is a non-issue if the user interface looks crap. Take Live Hotmail as an example – it changed to a spartan, largely graphic free user interface, and what have users done? Turned away in droves.
Please, please learn from their mistakes. Create a new user interface that is as pleasant as the old one. If not, please allow users the opportunity to switch back to it, as you currently do with Mail Classic.

well its up to you all if its a good idea or not . well hope all is well bye for now
well here i am wanting to start up a Yahoo Messenger account… but when I select the trueswitch link (as supplied by the yahoo process) it appears that i am signing up to:
* copy all “my” personal data
* notify everyone with the new address
* forward “my” mail to the new address
* cancel “my” old acount
Hell no! This is way out of bounds! I just want to establish a Yahoo Messenger account and search for links in my existing contacts databases…

I just hate, hate and hate new version of yahoo. Yahoo Classic was simple and quick, and eye catching. New version has got a lot of crap on it and does not look even attractive. All the time I was able to switch to Classic Yahoo, when I opened web.
Today I opened yahoo, and “Switch to Classic Yahoo” at the end of right side of web page was not there anymore. I think yahoo should give people a choice and should not decide for them what version to use, and should not remove option to switch to Classic Yahoo.
Some people may be fine with new version, but some prefer classic version. But it seems that yahoo developers have decided for everyone in ahead. They think that everyone should like the new version of yahoo. But as it proves it is not a case. But do they actually even read people comments, do they really care about people opinions?

I wish you folks at Yahoo would stop messing with something that works great then try to force everyone to use it, which is SUPPOSED to be new and improved, but isn’t!
The Classic email was great. Put your developers to work on things that need fixing …. NOT keep changing things just for the sake of changing things!

Seriously guys – the ONLY important change you have got to make to Yahoo contacts is – making it possible for Yahoo to BE contacted!!!!
I have been wanting to upgrade my email to a paid account for 18 months now. I have a real simple question that I have to have answered before I decide to do this. But can I find out the answer? NO!! And just how many hours of searching would YOU put into finding out about a product you wanted to buy that costs 20 bucks?? I’ve already put in several.
Seriously, if you want to sell something, you have to have customer service.
I am really disappointed in Yahoo for taking this high-and-mighty approach to its customer base. So far as I am concerned, if you don’t want to talk to your customers you aren’t worth dealing with at all.
And BTW, I am fairly computer literate. So if I’m not buying, you can pretty much figure that you are losing hundreds of thousands of dollars through this gaffe (or should I say GAPING GAP) in your selling strategy
Poor show guys
(I did not put my yahoo email address at the top because I just don’t trust a company that wont take responsibility for its products or services – what other reason can there be for not being contactable?))

HELP!!!!
Somehow I got tricked into moving to Yahoo 7.
I was completely happy with Classic.
But now, I am STUCK between the two – 7 & Classic – cannot get into either, cannot read my mail.
I have not been able to access emails for more than 2 days now.
I am in neither one nor the other – classic or 7.
My emails are mounting up – I urgently need to access them. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!
Classic is great – couldn’t wish for anything better. Never wanted Yahoo 7, was trapped into a VOID. Help me access my emails please.
I HATE YAHOO 7.
If you cannot help me get to my emails, Yahoo, you’ll be history as far as I an concerned.
I am so desperate, I even tried to get fully into 7. But that is not working. When I click “GO TO MY MAIL” page it returns me to the same page
I was on previously keeps coming up. I keep clicking and never getting anywhere.
I am completely blocked from moving forward or backward – meanwhile my emails are mounting up.
I am on the Yahoo 7 mail page – I click on “GO TO MY MAIL” it refreshes to the same page.
I am in a terrible loop that cannot get beyond the ” Yahoo 7 MAIL “GO TO MY MAIL”
I want my classic yahoo page and mail back. do not like the new version, we should w\be allow to choose with yahoo we prefer.

I really dislike the new yahoo on my blackberry. It’s fine on a pc or lapotp but not on mobile devices. I’ve been searching for a way to get classic back on my blackberry but can’t. Sure it’s easy to flip back and forth between formats on a pc or laptop but i can’t find out to change it on the blackberry.

Isn’t it nice if we can upload our own stationery. I mean, what if I would like to personalize my stuff and I’d like to have my picture as the background.. hmmm..

it is reslly nice to see yhe changes ,noe yahoo has proved that “change is the law of nature”……:)
It’s an impossible task to get back to Classic Mail. Don’t even know how I lose it and the the problem to get it back. There’s got to be an easier way;. I’ve been trying everything for the past half hour and nothing…..

I don’t know technicalities with the PC but I want my classic mail better. Please get me back to it.
@Ponmani – Hi there, PC to phone is not offered in Yahoo!7 Messenger. You can make calls to India using the US version of Messenger: http://messenger.yahoo.com/
Just follow the instructions outlined in the post and you will have your Classic Mail back. Cheers,
Tasla – Yahoo!7 Mail team

Yahoo mail classic is easier and more user friendly. I feel robbed and my human rights violated when my yahoo mail classic was snatched and switched with an unfamiliar thingamajig!

Spiker | May 11th, 2010 at 2:57 pm
It is idiotic to assume that I WANT my Facebook profile photo to show up in Yahoo emails I send – who gaves you that right to intrude in my privacy? Who says privacy management must be the same on Facebook and Yahoo? Just because I want my facebook account to show a phto, it doesn’t mean that I want my Yahoo account to show my face, geneus.
675.
Marie Andal | May 12th, 2010 at 12:09 pm
The problem is that the options do not have the “please return to classic mail”, hence I cannot return to the classic mail. PLEASE PUT ME BACK TO THE CLASSIC MAIL. You should have asked your users first and not just switch us to the yahoo mail 7.
@ Spiker – Your Facebook photo won’t appear in every email you send out to anyone just by default. Your photo will only appear if the receiver of your email is also your friend on Facebook and has gone through the process of importing his/hers Facebook friends into Yahoo! Mail. In this case the Yahoo! and Facebook accounts of both of you will be linked and the Facebook profile photo will be displayed when you email each other.

How can I keep “Stationery” off the screen and retrieve it only when I want it? It’s there all the time on the e-mail screen…It takes up too much space and my e-mails are crowded. I know when I select “forward” the option is there to get it off.
Otherwise It’s a nice feature, especially around the holidays and thanks for it..

Karen | May 22nd, 2010 at 12:42 am
I am using yahoo mail for business and am fed up because you have changed it and it doesn’t work. I can’t get the options popup to come up above the advert so can’t move back to Classic. The new display means all the selection buttons look crossed out and have no colour – what have you done to it all! Please sort ASAP or I will have to move to a different mail system!

One of my college instructor’s facebook pic shows up in the emails she sends out from her .edu account. Both of us have tried finding a way to disable this with no luck. There appears to be nothing in either facebook or the college email that would allow disabling.
As to the information in response 4, I am neither her friend on fb nor have I imported any contacts from fb to yahoo.
Is this an issue that is occurring with others, and if so, will it be resolved soon?
Thanks,
Meghan

new mail is an umitigated disaster. The option to return to classic mail must be made immediately viisible on opening home page and remain a permanent feature. Loyal paying customers are stuck in a tiny reading panel bombarded with unwanted advice and ads. Att has become user unfriendly sadly.

Please tell me,
How long do I have to tolerate all the following bulshit supposed to be originated from Yahoo? Isn’t there anybody responsible to bring those people to Court, for trying to deceiving me into revealing my password which should then be used against my will and without my knowledge to all my contacts for illegal purposes?

WHT YAHOO CAN’T TAKE LEGAL MEASURES AGAINST THEM AND BRING THEM TO COURT?
I want to UNLINK my facebook and Yahoo but everything I read on the Internet doesn’t help because it’s isn’t detailed enough. It will say things like, “click in the What’s New” and I hope no idea if that’s on Facebook or Yahoo, or where to find it. Can you help?
Tracie, Your problem is different than mine. I think with you, Facebook requires an email address so you can just make up a new one at Yahoo.com and then go into your Facebook account and put in the new one (or an old one that you don’t use anymore). Facebook will then send all those emails to an account that you don’t really ever use. Hope this helps! My problem is that Facebook blurbs (from last year) are showing up on my Yahoo and some are blurbs from my brother’s old girlfriend to him on Facebook telling him how much she wants him back, etc. Do I need to see this every day? No, I do not. I want Facebook and Yahoo kept totally separate but can’t figure out how. Help, someone. Anyone?

Hi Team. My email account has been corrupted (probably phished), and therefore to prevent all of my contacts from receiving crude spam messages, I have set up a new yahoo account into which I have transferred my contacts, and then deleted all my contacts from the corrupted email account.
My prooblem is this: How do I transfer all the email messages and folders? I can only seem to be able to forward messages individually, which is problematic as this will remove the sender’s details from the review screen, and will take months due to the number of emails in our account.
Any advice would be welcomed.
Cheers

I have had someone wanting to chat with me and I dont even know them.Declined offer. When I tried to write an e-mail I was notified that I had another application open on anaorther computer. How do I report this to yahoo.
hi just got a new mac computer and downloaded the messenger for mac, but after using the windows version on old computer, im not sure what i can do on this new one…
how does one go to chat rooms??
There is only 1 thing stopping me from using Yahoo! Mail – the ability to file my messages into sub-folders. Can you please add this functionality soon?
@ Peter – Hi Peter, thanks for your suggestion! We value user feedback and I also personally agree with you that adding sub-folders is a great functionality to have.

This version of Yahoo! Mail for the iPad was built in HTML5, which is the same technology used in the mobile versions of Mail for the iPhone and Andoid phones. I am sorry to hear you didn’t like it and unfortunatelly, you won’t be able to get Classic on your iPad.

I only wanted to see what the new one is like and I was switched without saying I wanted the new one. Why does that happen? I’ve read more people don’t like the new one. Why be forced to the new yahoo? I like the classic still. When they switched me, now I can’t “chat” and it keeps saying that I have been disconnected from “chat”. I want “chat” and the new yahoo mail does not offer that?

I love using the stationery. It makes email writing even more pleasurable. I was especially thrilled to discover it on the new Yahoo because the previous stationery from ‘Fun Web’ stopped working. I can still use the other ‘Fun Web’ features – just not the stationery, so the Yahoo version was a Godsend!!! My mother thinks I am artistic – little does she know how simple it is to change text colours and click on the different backgrounds!!!

I think stationary is great ! I would like to be able to use a photograph as stationary but faded like a watermark. That would be VERY COOL ! That way you could have a pic of the person you are sending the email to or one of yourself and your email friend together to really personalise your emails. Thank for the op to air my view.

Hello,
For a long time I have been wanting to pretty up my emails but didn’t know how so I’m delighted you have created the stationary option, but more choices would be good.

Morgan here from the mail team,
Those of you who seem to have issues using chat, check which version of Yahoo! Mail you are using. It is only available in the All- New version.
We’ve got more information for you on the Mail Overview Pages and also a full tutorial on chat within Mail.
best of luck!
144. Brad S | December 17th, 2008 at 8:44 am
Hey guys,
I’m pretty excited about the changes you guys have made, but just a few suggestions:
The option in mail to go directly to my inbox rather than the welcome page and more frequent auto-checks of email.
Have to say that 1GB attachments will be a great improvement and make things a lot easier as well as ensuring that Yahoo!7 Mail stays as the world’s most unrestrictive free web email service.
Thankyou!!
Brad
Tom Sculley.

It is fantastic! Thanks.
151. Yahoo!7 Mail Team | December 19th, 2008 at 10:53 am
Hi Tom,
Sorry to hear that you don’t like the new features, as the post outlines the connection process is meant to make it easier for you to access the emails that matter, e.g. those from your friends.
It would be interesting to know what you dislike about the connection suggestions, as a connection is just a way for you to access your email more quickly in the long run.
You can turn off the new features if you go into the Mail Options page.
Options > Mail Options > Untick the checkbox “Enable Connection-related features”
cheers
Morgan

Hi Retro,
To answer you question yes, Yahoo! Mail has various ways to get email reminders. You have two main options:
1. Download the Yahoo!7 Toolbar from here: http://au.toolbar.yahoo.com/
2. Download Yahoo!7 Messenger from here:
http://au.messenger.yahoo.com

165. Yahoo!7 Mail Team | December 29th, 2008 at 11:17 am
Hi Graham,
Thank you for your feedback
If you want to disable this, you can do the following in the All-New Mail:
Your mail will then return to it’s previous look and feel. You may need to refresh your web browser before you see the change take effect. You may re-enable this at any time by going back into your options and checking the box again.
All the best,
Kate

Did not find the “Try it now” link under the Options link.
I had been using the new mail and was quite satisfied. But it started showing up 1 unread email even though there was no unread email in my Inbox. To check, I switched to the Classic mail and found that the unread email was in fact in another mail folder. After discovering this, I am now unable to switch back to the new mail.

Hi Morgan,
Is there a logical reason for having to go through the “New to Yahoo! Mail?” page every time I want to access my mail?
I haven’t been new to Yahoo! Mail for many years now, so why can’t your existing customers bypass the yahoo commercial and go straight to their Inbox?

Hi Wolf,
It sounds to me like there’s something weird happening with your account, are you using the new mail interface or the classic interface?
When the “New to Yahoo! Mail” page opens up, what link do you press, “upgrade now” or “no thanks”?
Try pressing upgrade now, if you don’t like it you can always switch back to Classic mail following the instructions here :
http://www.ymailau.com/blog/2008/10/16/switching-back-to-classic/
Lets us know how you get on.

209. Wolf | January 24th, 2009 at 8:57 am
Hi, Morgan,
I’m using Classic, as your new interface doesn’t like the screen resolution of my old monitor.
This is the “New to Yahoo! Mail” page I’m talking about, no sign of “upgrade now” or “no thanks” links.
There used to be a time when I’d click on the little mail notification symbol, I’d go straight to my Inbox.

Yahoo Mail has increased in usability greatly. I think ever since the release of the new mail upgrade my enjoyment of Yahoo’s ideas and creations has risen to the highest factor.

yeah. so. i have stationary.
but i want more options.
and one of the people who send me mail has different stationary than me. how can i change what stationary i have. because i don’t like my options (i don’t want abstract and sports and crap) and he keeps sending me cutesy letters with sanrio (hello kitty, etc) charcters, which would be better suited for me.
so, how is the basis of who gets what stationary determined?
and i really want new statioanry!

How do I stop “My Connections” that keep appearing each time I open my email. Too many of them are in no way connected to me and I want this insidious inclusion in my files to be done away with.
247. Yahoo!7 Mail Team | February 24th, 2009 at 10:28 am
Hi Keith,
Thank you for your feedback
If you want to disable this, you can do the following in the All-New Mail:
Your mail will then return to it’s previous look and feel. You may need to refresh your web browser before you see the change take effect. You may re-enable this at any time by going back into your options and checking the box again.
All the best,
Kate

If Yahoo are all for celebrating 25 years of online communication then why are they closing Geocities?
That’s destroying an important part of the history of the internet!
Shame on you Yahoo!

How True
How Slow it was
We put up with it
It was The NEW Dimension DIAL UP
How we have progressed from
CRYSTAL SET RADIO reception
Before Radio
Before TV even Black & White TV
Before SPUTNIC
The first Human Launched Satelite
Before Phenolic & Vinyl Music Players
Videos Beta & VHS & Stereo Sound
DVideo’s & Sound CD
Ipods etc
Most of those reading this would not know what all this comunication history is about.

404. carlos | May 26th, 2009 at 2:58 am

Online communication began in basic form in the 1961, CTSS. Email was started in 1965 by ARPANET
So online communucation is older than 25 years. Just not used by general public

I thought this was a great little video, the music was also pretty catchy too (is it a real song? probably not).
It just goes to show how far we really have come in the last 25 years, although I’m pretty young I still find it fascinating to learn about the history of communications and how it has evolved.
Yahoo should definitely keep doing videos like this celebrating other significant milestones.

when i log into my email, Bottom right corner i see saying connection suggestions and i either have the option to invite or not. I dont want thos option, its annoying and i dont want it, ive searched the net for ways to disable this and say the same thing. Unceck the the box for Enable Connection-related features (Messages, Suggestions, Updates).
Ive done this it dosent work, any other way to get rid of the annoying unwanted feature.

Hi guys
A couple of months ago I started using Google calendar because of the limitations of the Nokia calendar app. I looked at Yahoo calendar (because Yahoo is my primary email), but I couldn’t connect it to my phone (Nokia E71).
Your pretty graphics do not impress me. Show me some cross-platform portability!
Specifically, I want to use the Nokia calendar on the phone, DIRECTLY linked to the Yahoo calendar.
And make it work well in Australia. Do that, and I will happily come across to Yahoo calendar.

Hiyya guys,
Can you advise whether you have a conventional (but electronic) users guide for the new mail client? There are a few frustrating little things and I would love to read a manual to see what (if anything) I have missed. You might have some fantastic stuff there but I remain unaware because it isn’t addressed by a users guide.
If you have one, would you please be so kind as to send me the URL. I’m a firm believer iin RTFM, but you need the FM to do so.
Cheers, Brett

every time i try to sign in, i’m being asked for information.

Thanks,
That did help.

528. Zoomy | September 10th, 2009 at 5:03 am

* forward “my” mail to the new address
* cancel “my” old acount

596. Ann-Marie | December 18th, 2009 at 9:44 am
597. Jan Ruby | December 21st, 2009 at 12:52 pm

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME!!!!
Pamela

Yahoo mail classic is easier and more user friendly. I feel robbed and my human rights violated when my yahoo mail classic was snatched and switched with an unfamiliar thingamajig!
676. Yahoo!7 Mail Team | May 12th, 2010 at 1:40 pm
Cheers,
Tasla – Yahoo!7 Mail team

How can I keep “Stationery” off the screen and retrieve it only when I want it? It’s there all the time on the e-mail screen…It takes up too much space and my e-mails are crowded. I know when I select “forward” the option is there to get it off.
Otherwise It’s a nice feature, especially around the holidays and thanks for it..

690. diane | July 15th, 2010 at 3:27 pm
I want to UNLINK my facebook and Yahoo but everything I read on the Internet doesn’t help because it’s isn’t detailed enough. It will say things like, “click in the What’s New” and I hope no idea if that’s on Facebook or Yahoo, or where to find it. Can you help?
691. diane | July 15th, 2010 at 3:31 pm

Cheers
